The goal was to create a painting of someone I admire, focusing
on capturing their personality rather than simply replicating
their appearance. I chose Steve Irwin for his energy, passion,
and dedication to wildlife conservation.

Design Process
I began by researching photos of Steve Irwin to understand his
expressions and the spirit he conveyed. From there, I drafted
several thumbnail sketches and selected one that best
represented his personality. I then built the painting
step‑by‑step: laying down base colors, refining with paint layers,
and finishing with details that emphasized his lively, enthusiastic
character. The final piece reflects not just his likeness, but the
vibrant personality that made him so inspiring. This ended up
being a mixed media piece of watercolor, gouache and pen
