The client wanted an abstract painting of her cat that combined
the flat, stylized qualities of Egyptian art with more dimensional
elements. The design needed to balance historical inspiration
with a modern, personal touch.

Design Process
I researched traditional Egyptian paintings and artwork to
understand their flat planes and symbolic style, while also
studying photos of the client’s cat to capture its likeness. From
there, I developed a composition that placed the cat on a flat
plane, echoing Egyptian aesthetics, but incorporated subtle 3D
elements to give the piece depth. The final abstract design
merged cultural reference with personal subject matter,
resulting in a unique artwork that honored both the client’s
request and the cat’s presence.
